Treatment of Brown Spots and Sun Damaged Skin
Many people are unhappy with the
effects that prolonged sun exposure has had on their skin.
Hyperpigmentation or brown spots can occur from sun exposure,
hormonal changes or after skin injury or infection such as acne.
At CMG Laser and Renewal
Center,
we offer state of the art laser treatment of brown spots.
How does it work?
The Alexandrite or 755 laser targets
pigmented cells destroying them but causing no damage to the
surrounding skin. Both small spots and larger areas can be treated.
Does it hurt?
Most people describe the treatments
as similar to a rubber band snap or pin prick. Numbing cream is
available however; most people do not need this.
What should I expect?
After the laser treatment, the areas
will actually become darker. Eventually over several days to weeks,
the lesions will heal and flake off.
Will the brown spots return?
The best way to assure that the brown
spots do not return or darken again is to avoid sun exposure and
wear a sun block on a daily basis. If your hyperpigmentation is
caused by birth control pills or hormone use, it may return.
