Treatment of Spider Veins

Many people suffer from unsightly and sometimes painful spider veins.  These mainly occur on the legs and face. 

At CMG Laser and Renewal Center, we offer state of the art laser treatment which has been shown to diminish and even erase these small bothersome veins.   

How does it work?

The laser beam targets the blood cells in the vein causing a reaction that shrinks the vein while still protecting surrounding skin.  The laser works best on very small veins less than 3mm in diameter. For larger veins a procedure called vein closure is needed.  Does it hurt?

Most people describe the treatments as similar to a rubber band snap or pin prick.  During treatment, cold air is blown on the area helping to relieve any discomfort.  Most people do not require it, but a topical numbing gel may be used.

How many treatments will I need?

Depending on the size of the veins and how extensive they are, usually two to four treatments are required.

 Are their any side effects?

There may be some redness immediately after treatment and the vein may seem more swollen, however these symptoms if they occur should resolve with in a few hours to a few days.
